like most of the media, covering this risible General Election that has drifted so far away from a British General Election in the style and requirements of our Constitution as to be barely recognisable – I and much of the media were left hunting around on Google to try to find out who Jeremy Corbyn had selected as a replacement for the treacherous and utterly incompetent Diane Abbott, his first choice as a would be Home Secretary were Britain unfortunate enough to fimnd itself with a Corbyn Labour claque in Government on Friday!
Just who is Lyn Brown?
Lyn Brown was born in London in 1960 and completed her higher education with a teaching qualification at Whitelands College (The College was absorbed into what is now called Roehampton University formed in 2004).
Lyn Brown started work in 1984 as a Social Worker in Ealing and in 1984.
She was elected as a councillor to Newham London Borough Council in 1988.
In May 2005 she was elected as an MP taking over Jack Dromey’s majority in West Ham.
She has had a relatively unenlightening tenure as an MP since her denunciation of Corbyn as “untenable” last year and her vile and foul mouthed abuse of Talksport’s blind Political Editor, Sean Dilley, and his guide dog on the Palace of Westminster estate, being her only actions of any note! Corbyn, for lack of support amongst Labour MPs, made her his shadow minister for Policing in Oct-2016.
Now Corbyn has replaced the catastrophic and utterly incompetent Diane Abbott, after a series of unacceptable gaffes and acts of idiocy as his shadow Home Secretary of choice with Lyn Brown – a measure of his lack of support amongst the Parliamentary Labour Party that he has yet again had to choose someone of so little experience and of dubious reputation and loyalty, to potentially hold one of the great offices of State!
This is the experiernce Lyn Brown brings to her new office as MP for West Ham:
West Ham is by far the largest constituency in the country in terms of population, with more than 174,534 residents, according to the most recent estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
There are more young people than almost anywhere else in the country, and only 6.5% of the residents are aged over 65, compared to the national average of 16.5%.
West Ham does not represent a normal constituency as it is incredibly diverse.
White ethnicities account for only 34.5% of our residents, while 33.7% are of Asian origin and 23.1% are of Black, Caribbean or African origin.
A wide range of religious beliefs are represented in the constituency, with 46.2% of residents identifying as Christians, 26.8% as Muslims, 12% as of no religion, 5.2% as Hindus, and smaller numbers of Sikh, Buddhist, Jewish, and other groups.
Corbyn has replaced Diane Abbott with Lyn Brown as a “temporary” Shadow Home Secretary. That’s the same Lyn Brown who resigned last year from the Shadow Cabinet, saying the “the situation” in the party under Corbyn “is now untenable” and that “it’s time to go to the membership”. She said:
“Following the overwhelming vote of the parliamentary Labour party, it was with a heavy heart that I concluded that we had reached a tipping point and, for the good of the party and the country, I believe that we should seek a new leader.”
Brown also once shouted “for f*cks sake, move out of my f*cking way” at a blind journalist on the Parliamentary Estate. No Corbyn loyalists left to fill even the most important roles…
